Sore Throat / Tonsillitis — Belladonna vs. Hepar Sulph vs. Mercurius vs. Apis: a lot of saliva with constant painful swallowing, offensive breath, worse at night, sweats freely without relief, dirty grey-white patches on the tonsils.
Sinusitis / Sinus Pain — Kali Bichromicum vs. Hydrastis vs. Silicea vs. Pulsatilla vs. Mercurius: raw, sore, burning discharge, worse at night and in damp weather, sweating without relief, offensive.
Toothache — Chamomilla vs. Coffea vs. Plantago vs. Staphysagria vs. Mercurius: pain worse at night and in damp weather, with a flow of saliva, spongy bleeding gums and a metallic taste, worse from both hot and cold.
Mouth Ulcers & Sore Gums — Borax vs. Mercurius vs. Nitric Acid vs. Natrum Mur vs. Kali Mur: spongy, receding, bleeding gums, a foul metallic taste, heavy salivation that wets the pillow, ulcers with a dirty base, worse at night.
Potency: 30C twice daily; a sore throat with fever or pus needs a doctor.
